Compression bending is the most commonly used method for custom tube bending, creates a good-looking outer surface, but the inside of the tube is deformed. A compression bend forms by pushing the tube into a groove in a stationary radius die, as a pressure die wipes around the radius die. A press bender works on this principle, and counterbalances the downward force of the ram die with two wing dies.
