Make field schools accessible to more students
Ask any geoscience graduate from the Faculty of Science what the highlight of their degree was, and they’ll probably say, "field school" without hesitation. The intensive, multi-week experiences in diverse landscapes help future geoscientists develop observational, data-collection, analytical and interpretation skills, whiling building an understanding of how the Earth works on a fundamental level.
Field schools provide a unique, immersive and integrated "learn-how-to-learn" experience that can’t be duplicated in the classroom or laboratory. Rising costs are making it harder for some students to access these study opportunities, but your gift to the Earth, Energy and Environment Student Field Schools Fund can change that.
