The Institute of Behavioral Science and Technology at the University of St.Gallen is offering two PhD positions at the intersection of behavioral science and new technologies.

The Institute of Behavioral Science and Technology (IBT) is an interdisciplinary research institute that delivers evidence-based insights to better understand, predict, and improve the human-technology relationship. The IBT is part of the University of St.Gallen, one of Europe’s top business schools, located in Eastern Switzerland between the Alps and Lake Constance.

Description

  • Develop a stream of research at the intersection of behavioral science and new technologies, ideally related to the lab’s current research on autonomous products, human-technology relationship, digital well-being, and/or meaning in life.
  • Publish in international, peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
  • Support teaching activities by Prof. de Bellis (e.g., Empirical Social Research, Artificial Intelligence & Behavioral Science).

Requirements

  • A passion for behavioral science and new technologies.
  • An excellent master’s degree (or equivalent) in psychology, marketing, behavioral economics, or a related field.
  • Outstanding English communication and writing skills.
  • Practical experience in empirical research, especially in lab and web-based experiments.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical methods.
  • A strong self-discipline, team-orientation, and openness to work in an international team.
