Taking advantage of the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, the Loricorps Research Group of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) announces its association with the Centre de recherche de l'Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Montréal (CR-IUSMM) of the CIUSSS de l'Est-de-l'Ile-de-Montréal (CIUSSS-EMTL). This new alliance will allow us to further scientific research on eating problems, attitudes and behaviours, ranging from the functional to the dysfunctional, which affect the physical and mental health of hundreds of thousands of people in Quebec. Newly integrated into the ranks of the CR-IUSMM as a regular researcher, Professor Johana Monthuy-Blanc heads the transdisciplinary Loricorps team at the UQTR. Monthuy-Blanc and the twenty or so members of her team will be able to work jointly with some sixty researchers and more than 150 students at CR-IUSMM. Together, they will develop research projects in eHealth education and eHealth to address known issues such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa, as well as lesser-known issues such as binge eating and bigorexia, disorders that affect both men and women from all walks of life. "Today's announcement is not just a promising partnership between two organizations with a proven track record in the scientific field.
