Req ID: 47276 Faculty/Division: Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering Department: Department of Materials Science & Engineering Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Existing Vacancy: Yes OVERVIEW: The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Toronto invites applications for the position of Research Associate (Limited Term) to lead the design and creation of large, high-quality experimental datasets for the synthesis of metal oxides and alloys. QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must hold a PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or Physics and have extensive experience in inorganic synthesis and material characterization. In particular, we are looking for experience in the synthesis of metal oxides and alloys, with a comprehensive understanding of phase formation and material property control. The candidate will lead the outward-facing presentation of all project work, overseeing the creation and sharing of the dataset while ensuring the underlying data is structured to support information clarity. The role requires a demonstrated ability to define rigorous standards for data quality and create benchmarks to ensure experiments are reproducible and accurate. Candidates must have experience managing complex scientific projects and overseeing high-volume experimental workflows. Finally, the position requires a strong publication record and experience preparing technical reports or proposals for major funding organizations and stakeholders. KEY DUTIES:
