Reporting to the Managing Director, Graduate Programs Strategy & Student Experience - the Associate Director, Work-Integrated Learning position, provides strategic management, human resource management, and program leadership for the work-integrated learning curricular activities for the 11 graduate programs at the Rotman School, but mainly the Master of Management Analytics (MMA), Master of Financial Risk Management (MFRM), Master of Management (Mmgt) and Full Time MBA programs and all functions related to student internships, practicums and placements (also referred to generally as work-integrated learning). The Associate Director has managerial authority over the unit overseeing work-integrated learning and manages all functions related to human resources including organizational design, assignment of work, reorganizations as well as the hiring, performance management, professional development and training of all staff. In consultation with the Managing Director, Graduate Programs Strategy & Student Experience, the Associate Director, develops, implements, manages, and evaluates the Office’s budget, operational plans, as well as related policies and procedures in accordance with University policies and procedures. The Associate Director is responsible for ensuring that the Office carries out its mandate and designated functions efficiently, effectively and in a manner that is consistent with the policies, objectives, and goals of the Rotman School of Management and the University of Toronto. The Associate Director develops and oversees the processes and systems that ensure effective placement of students with industry hosts and monitors of the quality of the work- integrated learning. In collaboration with Career Services, the Associate Director is responsible for developing new partnerships and strengthening and maintaining existing relationships with industry hosts for the MFRM Rotman Risk Management project, the MMA Practicum, the Mmgt Practicum, and the FT-MBA Flexible Internship Program. The Associate Director will do this in consultation with the Managing Director, Graduate Programs Strategy & Student Experience, the relevant degree program Academic Directors and the relevant faculty members with teaching responsibility for the degree-program courses associated with work- integrated learning. One key responsibility of the Associate Director is to develop, monitor and renew partnership agreements that establish long-term commitments for work-integrated learning.
